FaMA Weekly #77

In this issue of FaMA Weekly we temporarily close the academy, the team shares some fitness and martial arts recommendations, and learn all about FaMA's fight against COVID-19.

Down, But Never Out

On Monday, 6 April the FaMA team had a final meeting before temporarily closing for the month. After some planning, cleaning and packing up our belongings, we said our goodbyes and headed home to get ready for what comes next.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for all the support and encouragement you have given us and we look forward to continuing to support the FaMA community.

Now that the academy is temporarily closed we needed to start thinking of new ways to continue sharing useful fitness and martial arts information with our community. Check out FaMA Recommendations, wide range of useful content curated from the FaMA team.

COACH

Kirstie Gannaway

"I’m a big believer in that we should be able to master controlled bodyweight movements before anything else. Funk Roberts is an MMA conditioning coach. I like this video because he keeps it simple while reinforcing tips and tricks that can help anyone achieve most benefits from each movement and exercise." - Kirstie

ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR

Steve Procida

"One thing that I truly believe in is never giving up. The ten lessons that Admiral McRaven discusses are lessons that I see in my daily life, that I have experienced in my past, present and am sure to experience in my future.

For a kid to grasp these concepts discussed in the clip might be difficult as they are young but if we as coaches or adults can at least present these ideas for them to be aware of it could help the child realise the lessons as they grow older and come across these experiences. Look at the times we are in right now, it's a crisis, a lot of people are unsure of what to do or what is going to happen but if we stick to these lessons, if we understand together that problems can be overcome and "don't ring that bell" then yes we will make this a better world to live in.

I listen to this video often and at each lesson the Admiral makes I input my own experiences that I am going through at that time and it motivates me to go out there and accomplish! FaMA!!!!!!!!!!" - Steve

A FaMAly Effort: Fighting Against COVID-19

The FaMA team set sail upon the seas of 2020, with high hopes of a rewarding and eventful journey. What we did not expect to meet shortly after, was the tumultuous waves caused by a sudden storm: COVID-19.

Since the onset of the virus in February 2020, FaMA has been closely complying with government advisories, by implementing necessary health measures in our academy.
